Old Cairo in Motion is a guided videography workshop led by Karim Magdy, who has been documenting daily life and human stories through street photography and video since 2017.
Taking place in the historic streets of El Darb El Ahmar, this workshop combines learning, observation, and practice. Participants will explore the fundamentals of street videography while capturing authentic moments, everyday interactions, and the unique atmosphere of one of Cairo’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
Throughout the day, Karim will share practical insights on visual storytelling, shooting in public spaces, observing human behavior, and approaching people respectfully while filming. The experience is designed to help participants become more confident, intentional, and creative in documenting real life.
